I just got scared when standing in our backyard with my husband's 80 year old aunt as one of the Great Dane's broke another board in two. My father-in-law thankfully handled the problem. I hope yours went well also. Big or small, we love them all.

Janette --- I am filled with Thanksgiving, but also going through a terrible time in life that is putting a strain on me. However, there is no doubt that every day I look around and see the beauty in life. I think on my daughter's wedding day, I'll be in shock! And over here, we have a few family members who also bleed orange. It's a great color too.

LanaLanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14422413007128219320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812128414310678524.post-46913889712586296552011-11-27T15:53:24.121-08:002011-11-27T15:53:24.121-08:00What a precious post...I could relate to so much o...What a precious post...I could relate to so much of it...some how age brings us to thanksgiving or bitterness...I love that it has brought me to a greater depth of thanksgiving. On congratulations on the engagement...and the joy of planning the wedding and your first marrying. That is when it hit me how fast time flies...when my first was married.

Oh Aggie...my son was at the game on Thanksgiving...but on the UT side...we bleed orange around here.

Great heart felt postJanettessage.blogspot.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01262598732466380229noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812128414310678524.post-31199839381213560482011-11-26T21:37:48.249-08:002011-11-26T21:37:48.249-08:00Glad you had such a wonderful Thanksgiving, Lana.

I love the six month little addition...those are the BEST and only a baby for such a short time frame. But, look at your life, it's now in chain reaction mode!! It's growing and growing!

Wonderful!

Lanawww,FarmLifeLessons.blogspot.comhttp://www.farmlifelessons.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812128414310678524.post-35923732875171139762011-11-26T18:11:24.754-08:002011-11-26T18:11:24.754-08:00Karen --- It saddens me to know your friend is in ...Karen --- It saddens me to know your friend is in a struggle and stressed about her daughter and grandbaby...sometimes our situations are so incredibly difficult that we can't imagine who we'll get through them, but we do. It took a while for all of us girls to hit this very thoughtful, loving, generous phase...we each are so very concerned about each other and life is made more beautiful by our moments together. It wasn't always that way, so there is hope for your friend, for sure. I do believe that the daughters must grow up a bit before they can start to appreciate mom. Until then, it's all about patience and more patience! I do hope my entry helps your friend in some small way.Be sure to let her know that we had days/weeks/months that were way NOT rosy!! :-) But, we came thru it to this beautiful time!

Thank you for the compliment, there's no doubt that I did all I could to do to raise my daughters as healthy as possible and as aware as possible. My girls have a very vivid memory of me being my their side through the years of growing up. I was one busy woman, but it was all worthwhile.

Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving too!!

Lanawww,FarmLifeLessons.blogspot.comhttp://www.farmlifelessons.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812128414310678524.post-81331518318667635982011-11-26T14:53:04.644-08:002011-11-26T14:53:04.644-08:00What a wonderful Thanksgiving post. Thank you for sharing yours.Leighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02435811789823712254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812128414310678524.post-58598208108156323822011-11-26T14:08:39.818-08:002011-11-26T14:08:39.818-08:00Lana, this post is something I must absolutely sha...Lana, this post is something I must absolutely share with my friend. She is not in a good place with her daughter this weekend and has been so stressed. There is a newborn grandbaby in the picture too, and it is a mess. I have been standing by her and trying to help her through this the best I can, but I know I'm no substitute for her daughter, at least the mother/daughter relationship she so desperately wanted to have. Maybe when her daughter grows up a little she'll realize what she's putting her mother through, maybe not. But your post is one I will definitely share with her to give her strength!

Thank you, Lana, as always, you've hit the nail on the head.

And congratulations to you on raising two beautiful daughters to be wonderful, productive members of society. You have a gorgeous family, but you already knew that, didn't you? :-)

Happy Thanksgiving to you!Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18368318730124533690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812128414310678524.post-68099047378067000632011-11-26T14:03:56.037-08:002011-11-26T14:03:56.037-08:00Mike --- Yes, I do think that relationships with s...Mike --- Yes, I do think that relationships with sons are very different. I have seen it in EVERY person I know who has a son. I guess that's why God had to spell it out for some sons in Ephesians that the man is to LEAVE his mother and father and CLEAVE to his wife...cause some of those Mama's Boys just don't have a clue. But, having a son brings its own challenges. It's also a huge blessing to have a son, but I don't think having a son would have worked out over here...they probably would not have survived teenagehood with Deputy Dave's level of patience and since a boy often imitates the father...oh, I just don't think the timing would've been good in this life-time. God obviously did what He thought was best...no boys over here. But, I've been so completely happy with my two daughters that it's indescribable. Not perfect , but so worthwhile. Watch...I'll probably have ALL grandsons!! Being a parent can be rough business, we just hang in there and do our part to let the kids know we're here for them, as long as it's not for us to be pounded into the ground! haha And, as for Henry's shirt --- now I will be focused on it until I get the answer cause I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT SAYS!! Looks suspicious! I can tell you were in the military, etc. because you have a sharp eye!

LanaLanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14422413007128219320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812128414310678524.post-21217980763920951822011-11-26T13:44:28.386-08:002011-11-26T13:44:28.386-08:00I reckon father/son arrangements are a bit differe...I reckon father/son arrangements are a bit different. With mine, anyway. Always up or down. Today it's down with one and up with the other. Better than 3 years ago when it was down with both. That's a long, bitter divorce story that won't be blogged about. ;)

Anyway, what I really want to know is: what is that four-letter word on Henry's shirt? =:OMikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11878152240514975518noreply@blogger.com
