However, every now and then, he takes photos that jolt me into wide-eyed appreciation because he manages to catch a regular daily moment on film and make it look weird, such as this photo, taken over five years ago, when my sister had been doing dishes while eight months pregnant.
Once she got to the knife, he told her to keep it in her hand and turn around.

My family...what can I say?
It's never boring.

Her look is priceless!
I always crack up when I see this photo. I think he captured the inner-misery-of-a-woman-late-in-pregnancy kind of look. "Don't Mess With Me Buddy" is kind of how it goes. Of course, if you knew my sister, this would be extra hysterical because she's the sweetest person on earth, not a mean bone in her body. We nick-named her "Robin" when she was a newborn because she'd whistle in her crib. So precious. I'm a bit older than she is...I adore her.
Once I stopped laughing I noticed the little white dots made by the cabinet pulls - love them, and the picture.
Lana - this photo made me think...
In olden times, "they" used to say that if you put a knife under the bed of a woman delivering a baby, that it would cut the pain in half!
I heard this on "Gone With The Wind" too, when Melanie was having her baby, and Prissy said that.
I thought maybe your sis was going into labor - haha! OR she's just about had enough of your BIL!
Charade --- this house was my sister's first home that she purchased on her own, as a very young woman, in her mid-twenties. She had the kitchen revamped, beautiful RED cabinets, with old-style tile and a granite sink. That kitchen had awesome character.
Vickie --- I've heard that saying all my life as well. I guess we're both "Gone with the Wind" fans!!!! A huge delight was to watch that movie with my youngest daughter and to know that she really liked it! Boy, I remember these days of being this full with pregnancy! Augh! But, her husband is a sweetheart...along with being uniquely creative! haha I look at this picture and remember how much my sister suffered with such bad swelling and potentially serious pregnancy issues. She was 30 years old. She had gotten married while living in that first house, but would soon need a bigger home for her growing family. We were blessed that her health and the baby's was okay. Not to even forget mentioning that our mom died about three months before this picture was taken, when my sister was only approximately 5 months pregnant with her first-born child. My mom would've have doted on my sister during this time. Fortunately, she let me come over and wash all of the new baby clothes and put them away in drawers and help get the baby's room ready. Only for us to sell her house when she was still in the hospital immediately after delivery. God sure has great plans.
Linda --- Thank you for the compliment to pass on to Warren. I have to chuckle every time I see this picture!
great pic! love it...the classic don't screw with me picture!
Krista --- my sister sure did the photo justice with her perfect expression and stance.
Could be Norman Bates in that belly. ;)
